Short Review: Good, healthy food and an awesome takeout option. Long Review: Ok, this is my go-to place to get a really good beet salad. In fact, it's one of the only places that gives a generous portion of beets and other vegetables in a salad. Others are less generous indeed. The portions are pretty big too; you could share the salad with someone and still be full. Hack: when you add chicken to a salad, they give you about half white, half dark meat. If you want all of one or the other, order the salad without chicken, then order the chicken as a side portion (you get the same amount, by the way) and you can choose all white or all dark meat. In-store dining ambiance is not my favorite. It's too loud, and everything is rustic wood/metal with concrete floors. Definitely not a date night or a catch up with friends since you'll be competing with everyone for share of hearing. LOL. But a great place to get a healthy meal.

Always love a trip to Urban Plates! We go for dinner occasionally when we don't feel like cooking, and we eat out on the patio. Today I had the chimchurri platter, potatoes and brussels. Sophia was great at helping us place our order! Urban Plates is always really easy and we feel like we aren't just settling for fast food just cuz we aren't in the mood to make a fuss out of dinner!

It proves that pressing "skip" on the tips amount is a smart motion ... The 3% surcharge is sneaky.... After all the food is good... Steak is a bit too chewy, the mango tart is good, not too sweet. It's a but empty in the dining room, and people are friendly.

Food was enjoyable, Ashley took our order and was helpful. She recommended the Cowgirl Cookie, and indeed it was delicious! Thank you Ashley! Highly recommend sitting by the window where you can people-watch. We saw a tree branch sadly fall on a father and his child across the street. Hope he's okay though :/

Was always seeing their grass fed steak on my friends' instagram worthy posts and was intrigued myself. Once I came here, it became my regular routine. If I could come here more often, I would. Food I love that they have a good variety of menu items for people who have different palettes. I have only tried about 4 items and 6 of their different sides have been happy with my choices. I have had a few times where my grass fed steak was almost room temperature at most. I'm not sure if that was intentional but it does prevent me from getting that dish again. They have a Plate Pass program where it cost $5 per month. They have 3 different tiers and even the regular pass is worth it! With the regular tier, you're already making use since you're getting 20% of your order. I might look into getting the platinum one day. Service The servers are super sweet and attentive. There are a few times where it was hard to get some assistance, maybe it was a busy time when I went. Otherwise, other times the servers even offer water to my little furry friend as well. Ambiance There's a huge indoor and a small outdoor seating area. Since I'm here often with my furry friend, I sit on the outdoor terrace. I enjoy both settings very much. Indoor feels like a nice hip dining experience. Outdoor, there are patio furniture and a small bar type seating in front. It's just a vibe and relaxing place where it's not crazy loud or chaotic. Parking There is some street parking out front as well as a structure behind. I often park there since street parking is tough in Pasadena. Urban Plates does do parking validation for the structure! It's a small walk around the corner, but you don't have to deal with parallel parking.

Came to Urban Plates with a large party and we definitely had trouble deciding what to get because of all the variety. Abraham provided great help in giving tips on what to get. I ended up getting the kids Steak Plate (yup as an adult haha) and it was delicious! I was a big fan of the brussel sprouts side. The steak was also perfectly cooked at medium rare. I would definitely come back in the future -- thank you Urban Plates team!

Thank you Ashley for a pleasant experience. Every time I come here, everyone is so friendly. It's the perfect place to unwind after a long day and eat some good food. I got my usual, Moroccan Chicken Braise. It tasted different than usual today but it was still good. My friend enjoyed their cheeseburger. Also, Urban Plates has a good selection of unique hot sauces that were very tasty. And finally the chocolate chunk cookie was a perfect dessert to end the meal.
